Waralaba atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan franchise merupakan bentuk kerja sama dalam penggunaan hak atas kekayaan intelektual pemberi waralaba dan penerima waralaba. Program waralaba bibit telah diterapkan oleh PPKS sebagai produsen benih kelapa sawit sejak 2005. Kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu cara untuk dapat menyediakan bahan tanaman unggul PPKS di wilayah-wilayah yang sulit terjangkau (remote area). Prinsip waralaba bibit yang diterapkan adalah PPKS sebagai pemberi waralaba (franchisor) memberi izin kepada penerima waralaba (franchise)–dalam hal ini petani penangkar–untuk menggunakan hak intelektualnya (nama dan merek dagang kecambah).
